TESLA: Production of Cybertruck Delayed Till 2023

Tesla Inc, the leading manufacturing company for electric cars and sport utility vehicles, has revealed in a report that production of the much anticipated Cybertruck will be delayed till early 2023.

The Tesla Cybertruck is a battery-electric light-duty truck. The production was first announced in 2019, assuring that the production of the electric pickup will begin in late 2021, with prices ranging from $39,900.

In August 2021, production was also held back till 2022, which has now been waived. The delay might be a result of the global chip shortage, the global pandemic, or probably a shortcoming in the angular design of the Cybertruck.

According to an insider, the delay results from Tesla remodeling some features and functions of the Cybertruck to better compete with existing similar products in the market.

Ford Motor’s red-hot F-150 Lightning electric pickup would be ready for shipment later in 2022. Also, Rivian Automotive R1Ts electric pickup truck is ahead of Tesla in their release of the electric truck.

Ford Motor also sets to increase the production capacity of its electric truck ahead of its shipment in spring. Later in 2022 and 2023, Chevy and Hummer are also set to launch their electric truck.

Tesla, as of late, took out a reference to its creation plan from its Cybertruck order site. Last month, the site said, “You will be able to complete your configuration as production nears in 2022.”

In 2022, it has been excluded. Currently, the site says, “You will be able to complete your configuration as production nears.”

Tesla intends to deliver the Cybertruck at its manufacturing plant in Austin, Texas, which is relied upon to create Model Y vehicles at the beginning of this year. It will first be produced in limited quantities in 2023 before mass production.

However, Tesla had a fantastic 2021 as the company delivered about a million cars, an 87 percent increase. Also, they topped the monthly sales chart in Europe with its Model 3.

All these might make the Cybertruck be considered as a lesser priority to the company. Consequently, they stand to lose potential customers to their competitors already in the market or set to launch theirs this year.

Meanwhile, rumor also has it that Tesla might release a smaller version of the truck later in March 2022; no one knows how identical or different it will look compared to the initial Cybertruck set to be released.
