Elon Musk Kicks Kanye Off Twitter

Kanye’s account, which is not even a month old since its reinstatement, has been taken down again. On December 1, Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, posted a picture of the Star of David inside the swastika as his official Ye logo for 2024.

The post was made just a few hours after his appearance on “Infowars,” where he was interviewed by Alex Jones and featured white supremacist Nick Fuentes, where he made antisemitic remarks, praised the Nazis, and claimed to admire Adolf Hitler.

He said on the show, “I am done with the classifications. Every human being has something of value that they bring to the table, especially Hitler. There are a lot of things that I love about Hitler.” Twitter’s CEO, Elon Musk, responded to Ye’s post that caused him to be suspended, saying it violated rules against the platform, and he did so with his tweet while replying to a Twitter user’s question, saying, “I tried my best despite that he violated our rule against incitement of violence. The account will be suspended.” Musk also affirmed that the account reinstatement was not his sole decision, as it was restored by Twitter before he took ownership.

Kanye was previously locked off the platform in October for posting and promoting antisemitic views. The rapper has over 30 million followers on the platform and has been a generational sensation for over a decade due to his artistic contributions to music, fashion, and lifestyle. With his influence in the industry, the problem is not even Kanye’s views about Jewish people but the fact that his consistent antisemitic behaviour can lead people who idolize him down a path of violence.

A lingering question is: where will Kanye go?

Since he is no longer acquiring the social media company, Parler said the decision was mutual between the two parties, meaning Kanye doesn’t want to buy it, and Parler doesn’t want to sell it.

The rapper is slowly being shut out of many social media platforms, inevitably lowering his voice and online influence. Twitter has gifted him another suspension, and all we can do is sit and wait to see how long the penalty will last. If Kanye is reinstated again, do you think he will respect the social media content moderation rules, or will he go back to his old ways? Let us know your thoughts on this issue in the comments.
