Oxford City Football Club is the first national league football club that will be accepting payments in cryptocurrency.
The club will wear the BTC logo on their shirts; fans can buy tickets with bitcoin using the lightning network and drinks in its RAW charging stadium using bitcoin. However, traditional cards and cash payments are still acceptable.
Oxford City Football Club is an English professional football club that was founded in 1882 and is located in Marston, Oxford. They are part of the National League South, which is the sixth tier of the English football league hierarchy.
The reason for this digital shift is the clubs’ multi-year partnership with CoinCorner, a Bitcoin exchange platform that helps users in the UK and Europe buy and sell Bitcoin using their debit and credit cards.
This partnership will see the club’s jersey carry the Bitcoin and coin corner logos while the company will oversee the smooth running of cryptocurrency transactions at the club.

Fans will use the limited edition “bolt cards” created by Coin Corner to make various transactions seamless and easy.
