Twitter’s New Co-Author Feature

Twitter is out with another new feature. The social network service is working on a feature that would allow multiple users to co-author a tweet, referred to as “Collaborations.”

Like Instagram Collab, this new feature will allow users to collaborate with another Twitter account to post the same tweet to be shared with their respective followers.

Alessandro Paluzzi, a mobile developer, spotted the new information; he noticed that a collaborations button had been included in the tweet composer screen and also discovered how the co-authors’ profile pictures would appear.

Though the option is not universally available to the public, Twitter explained on the introductory screen that users would first have to ask for permission from a person or brand to “co-own” or “co-author” a tweet with them and wait for them to accept the request. When the other user accepts the request, both accounts are then shown as co-authors on the tweet.

Also, this new feature hints at a possible plan to give creators a way to partner with businesses on brand Ad deals, which is already familiar with other social networks like YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, etc.
