Snapchat Launches AI Chatbot Powered By ChatGPT Technology

Snap Inc., the parent company of Snap Chat, has announced the launch of a chatbot on Its social media platform, Snapchat.

Snapchat has joined other social media platforms in the AI race by launching its chatbot powered by ChatGPT, known as “My AI,” which will currently be available to those who subscribe to the $3.99/month Snapchat Premium package.

My AI is the first mobile adaptation of the chat GPT, the chatbot will be available for all Snapchat Premium subscribers, and it will provide these paying subscribers with suggestions and assistance such as trivia questions, composing poems, or writing stories that they can send to their friends.

This shows how the social media company aims to deploy generative AI to build its paying user base and also continue to entertain the existing ones. Snapchat ensures that the interactive chatbots adhere to all the company’s guidelines and safety rules.

My AI on Snapchat has been developed to engage in lighter and more amusing conversations, and it will be able to suggest original ideas like possible birthday presents for friends or how to create a poem on a certain subject.

The demo for the chat or Snapchat bot described the chatbot’s importance to the growing social media user base with a little catchphrase, “Chat about your day or write a haiku about your bestie.”

The company also hinted via a blog post: “My AI can propose birthday presents for your BFF, organize a weekend hike, suggest a supper recipe, or even craft a haiku about cheese for a friend who is crazy about cheddar.”

Founder and CEO of Snap Inc., Evan Spiegel, stated, “The big idea is that in addition to talking to our friends and family every day, we’re going to talk to AI every day, and this is something we’re well positioned to do as a messaging service.”

Snapchat is the latest competitor in the AI integration race, where Microsoft and Google have launched and started their own AI chatbots. Meta is also hinting at the release of their developed chatbot that will be incorporated into their social media platforms; it is rumoured to be faster and more effective than Blender Bot, which will not be released until 2020.
