How To Free Up Storage Space On Your Smartphone

When many people’s smartphones run out of storage space, the only solution they can think of is buying an external memory card to upgrade their devices. But what if there is a simpler and faster way to free up space on your device?

Here are some simple tips to help you with that.

Note: These tips are mainly applicable to Android OS devices.

# Tip 1

Android has a built-in free space tool in its settings option.

Go to your settings, select storage, and click the “free-up space” button.

This option will free up apps and photos you may no longer need.

# Tip 2

Go to your File Manager

Click on “clean.”

This will show you a list of junk files, duplicate files, and large files that you can scroll through and delete the unnecessary ones.

# Tip 3

Go to your device settings.

Select storage and enable smart storage.

This option will automatically delete backed-up photos after a certain period or when your device is almost full.

# Tip 4

Delete ancient apps on your phone that you no longer use.

You can find those apps when you go to your play store

Select “My Apps and Games.”

Tap “Installed”

Sort by most recently used. Check the list and uninstall apps that you no longer need.

# Tip 5

Go to your settings

Select Apps

Check the app you want to get space from and click on it.

Click “Storage”

Tap on “Clear Cache”

Note: You can do this for multiple apps.

# Tip 6

Some apps come with the phone that you can not uninstall even if you have no use for them, but you can disable them to stop them from running and taking up ROM space.

To do that,

Go to your settings

Select Apps

Click on the app you want to disable.

Click on “Storage”

Tap on “Clear Cache”

Go back

Click on “Disable app.”

There you have it. These are some easy tricks to free up space on your smartphone.

I know there are more ways users can free up space. If you have any apart from these tricks that have been mentioned, feel free to leave a comment of your trick.
