Resetting a laptop means it will return to its original factory setting, which makes everything on the laptop fresh like you just bought it.
If you have forgotten your password or simply want a fresh new laptop, then this is an option.
Below are different ways to reset your laptop, whether it is a Windows PC or a MacBook.
Reset On A Windows PC
Tip 1
Ensure your laptop is plugged into a power outlet.
Turn on your laptop
Click on the power button at the bottom right
Press and hold the shift key on your keyboard and click on restart
It will take you to a “Choose An Option” menu display
Select the Troubleshoot option.
Click on ” Reset this PC” to reset your laptop.
You can either choose to keep your files or remove everything, as there is an option for both.
After about 5–10 minutes, the laptop will ask you again to confirm your option.
The resetting process can take roughly an hour, and you will be redirected to a welcome page to show that it is completed.
Tip 2
Turn on your laptop
Press the “F3” button continuously before the laptop light comes on.
It will load to “Preparing for Automatic Repair.”
Keep tapping F3 until it shows an automatic repair menu.
Click on “Advanced Option.” ”
Click on Troubleshoot, then tap the “Reset this PC” option
You can choose either to factory reset the PC to how it was manufactured, reset but keep already installed settings, or reset and keep all files
Choose the option you prefer, click reset, and ensure your laptop is plugged in as the PC resets.
Reset On MacBook
Shutdown your MAC.
Hold down the Command + R button on your keyboard while you turn on your Mac.
You will be asked to select your language.
Select Disk Utility.
Click on Internal Tal on the left-hand side of your monitor
Click to erase
Remember to keep your Mac plugged in as the system erases
