If Deus Ex Go is on your list of favorite games, well, you may not like this. The Swedish video game company, Embracer has taken the move to remove the games from mobile app stores.
The action-role-playing game would not only be removed from mobile App stores, but the company has also given a notice that Deus Ex Go will no longer be accessible to users even though it has already been installed. In the case of in-game purchases, current players are advised to access the game before January 4, 2023.
Other games like Hitman Sniper, The Shadows and Space, Arena Battle, Hidden Heroes, and Arena Battle are also on the list to be removed from the online game stores on December 1, 2022. Currently, in-game purchases have been stopped.
The company made the decision official through its Twitter handle, “Onoma.” A tweet stated, “We encourage prior in-game purchases to be used before January 4, as they will not be refunded. On behalf of the development team, we would like to thank you for playing our games”.
It is unclear why Deus Ex Go and others should not be played anymore even after removing it from the online game store because if a game has been downloaded, one should still be able to play the game offline even though it has been removed from the online game store.
Games like Mass Effect 2 and Indigo Prophecy, which were removed on October 11, are still accessible to old players after the games have been removed from the digital marketplace. Many think Embracer would have done the same thing, but the reason for the drastic decision is yet to be disclosed.
Without any doubt, it is clear that game developers and media holding companies own exclusive rights over their games, but what is the guarantee for a continued adventure with our favorite games in the future?
