Bard: ChatGPT’s New Rival

Over a week ago, Google CEO Sundar Pichai issued a code red over Chat GPT’s impact on the tech giant’s search engine business.

Google invited their previous founders, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, to help them with AI projects after they stepped away years ago to run Alphabet, Google’s parent company.

According to the New York Times, Google announced that they are not just going to release one AI chatbot but instead 20 new products in the coming years.

Chat GPT, the new and popular search solution, has been predicted as being a great competition to Google Search as, for the past months, it has helped millions of individuals gain answers to their questions. Although the AI has a lot to offer, there are still some evident issues it needs to tackle, such as accuracy and the depth of knowledge fetched.

Google is aware of these weaknesses and will capitalize on them to make a better product, making sure it hits the three points of;

  • Getting facts right
  • Fighting misinformation
  • Making sure users are safe online

To solve all of ChatGPT’s limitations, Google has revealed its own AI chatbot, “Bard.”

This release comes in response to tech rival Microsoft’s investment in Open AI, owners of ChatGPT. Bard is an experimental conversational AI service built on Google’s existing LAMDA neural language model network.

The artificial chatbot will be added to Google’s search engines to help users answer more complicated questions. Google’s CEO announced that Bard has been released for testing this week to trusted testers and will be available for use by the general public in the coming weeks.

With this new Google release, the competition for the best in artificial intelligence seems to be heating up, and Google has just entered the race with Bard. Who do you think will win the race? Will Microsoft come on top, or will it be Google? Let us in on your opinion in the comments.
