As technology evolves, enterprises must prepare for what is next because soon, our physical realities will be as programmable as today’s Metaverse is taking over reality.
The Metaverse is the future of the internet that will enable new realities and bridge existing worlds, i.e., bridging virtual experience and real experience.
An easier way to understand the Metaverse and the possibilities in it is to imagine you want to go buy a dress online and you are not sure how it will look on you. You can try it digitally in the Metaverse. Or you are trying to design your house, and you don’t know what pattern or design will look better. You can have a digital replica of your house design and switch between designs until you find the one you are most comfortable with. All these and more are the kinds of possibilities that are available in the Metaverse.
Paul Daugherty, The Chief Technology Officer at Accenture, at the vision launch, said, “People should stop viewing the metaverse as a futuristic event or something that will only happen tomorrow, and instead recognize that the metaverse is here and now.”
The Metaverse is the next stop for businesses and creatives. A lot of companies are now making a statement in the digital world. Mind you; these companies are not only tech companies.
For example, CVS has decided to move to the Metaverse. They are the first pharmaceutical company to do that. They are set to make their physical and digital products available in the Metaverse and some non-fungible tokens (NFTS).
Another example is in Africa, where MTN telecommunications company decided to buy digital land in the Metaverse.
The Metaverse will impact every aspect of business, from how businesses interact with customers to how companies will be run and operated, bringing in new ideas.
There are procedures and possibilities that can help reshape businesses.
With all these possibilities that will be available in the Metaverse, it is only wise for business owners and start-ups to think of ways to digitize their organization and hop into the Metaverse.
