Have you ever bought more airtime than you needed? And you want your money back but need to know how.
Not to worry; it is a common mistake that we all encounter.
Some different ways and platforms help you convert airtime back to cash in Nigeria.
Note: All the platforms below have different airtime-to-cash conversion rates, and choosing the friendliest rate is advisable.
Some of these platforms are:
1. Palmpay – A digital wallet that helps users perform many financial tasks such as transfers, payments of bills, etc. To use Palmpay:
- Go to your Google Play Store or Apple App Store and download the Palm Pay app.
- Sign up using your email or phone number.
- On the home page, click on the “Airtime” icon.
- Scroll down and look for the “Recharge to Cash” option and click on it.
- Choose your network provider.
- A verification code will be sent to your phone number. Copy it from your inbox and paste it on the platform.
- Click on login.
- You will be asked if you have an airtime pin. If you do, click Yes to continue the process, and if you don’t, click No and create a pin (you can access your transfer pin by contacting your mobile network’s customer care).
- Enter the airtime amount you want to sell, input your pin, and click sell.
- The cash payment will be added to your Palm Pay account within two hours. You can transfer it to your other bank account or withdraw it directly.
2. Pay Recharge – This app helps users buy airtime and data, and they can also convert and make transactions with them.
To use PayRecharge:
- Go to your Google Play Store or Apple App Store and download the “Pay Recharge” app.
- After downloading, open the app and sign up for an account.
- On your dashboard, look for the “Sell Airtime” button and click on it.
- Fill in your phone number, network, and amount of airtime you want to sell.
- Confirm all the details that you have input.
- Click proceed.
- A code will be generated to transfer the airtime to that designated account.
- Copy the code and paste it on your keypad.
- Dial the code.
- When the transfer is successful, you take a screenshot.
- Go back to your PayRecharge dashboard. Refresh to check new deposits.
- If it has been deposited, you can withdraw it from PayRecharge and use it.
3. Tingtel – mobile app helps users rapidly buy, sell, and transfer airtime. To give its customers the largest possible selection of vendors where they can convert their airtime to fund third-party wallets and settle bills and utilities, To use Tingtel:
- Go to the app store (Google or Apple).
- Create an account using the mobile number the airtime is on.
- Go to the Homepage.
- Click on the “Sell Airtime” button.
- Click on “Add New Beneficiary” (add the account number and account name you want to receive money).
- Click on “Next.”
- Click on the mobile network you have the airtime on and input the amount of airtime you want to convert to cash.
- Input your transfer pin and click on “Transfer.”
- You will receive a credit alert in the next 15 minutes to confirm the payment.
