Data is now more paramount in running the world’s most valuable organizations today, and the ability to manipulate and analyze such data has given rise to many digital technologies, such as the Internet of Things (IoT).
You may ask what the internet of things is and how important it is to this digital generation. Well, IoT is an Internet-based platform that allows digital devices such as phones, cars, and electronics to communicate with one another.
During communication, data is emitted from various digital platforms via their sensors and securely sent to IoT platforms, which integrate this data and perform further analysis using actuators to produce various forms of information that are then shared with all digital devices for improved efficiency, automation, and overall user experience.
IOT automatically senses changes and adjustments in your environment and acts according to them, a simple example of how IoT is being used in our everyday lives is a smart car that uses autopilot mode.
The smart car collects data from traffic sensors, sensors from other vehicles, and also live GPS to help it run in autopilot mode effortlessly. Even when the car has some issues, it can also diagnose itself to the owner via the car’s display or the owner’s connected phone.
Apart from these scenarios, there are a lot of other operations in which IoT is a huge part of, i.e., smart homes and smart appliances, where IoT is redefining our lifestyle and transforming the way things are done.
The world’s technological advancement has been facilitated by automotive machines and systems that run on the IoT. Many industries have adopted the use of IoT technologies to run their day-to-day activities. With these processes in place, productivity and profitability have increased drastically.
The future will be seamless as IOT integrates with artificial intelligence to create vital changes in so many industries, making room not just for devices but also robotics to be able to take clues from the environment and adjust to those signs and changes.
We can call that responsive and self-aware artificial intelligence that does not need human supervision to operate but can act according to patterns presented to it.With all these IoT possibilities, it is safe to say that the Internet of Things is bringing the future to us.
