Alexandr Wang is the founder and CEO of Scale AI, a data science company that helps companies manage their big data and filter the data to get essential nuggets of data hidden inside their information.
Scale AI is worth over 7.3 billion dollars, and Alex owns 15%, making him a billionaire at 25.
Alex was born in 1997 in New Mexico into a family with both parents as physicists. He grew up as a math prodigy and loved playing the violin.
He dropped out of high school in his junior year and moved to Silicon Valley, where he worked as a software engineer. He got into MIT at the age of 17 and dropped out of MIT when he was 19 years old, and started Scale.
Scale was founded by Alexandr Wang and Lucy Guo and was first known as Scale API, mainly used for sending data, e.g., images that come back label, but this was not solving many problems, so they decided to move to filter data for autonomous vehicles.
This company mainly uses data analysis and AI to solve big data problems. We live in a world with over 7 billion people, and billions of bits of data are transferred daily. Scale Al developed a data science AI that helps make sense and search through big data faster than any human analyst can, and they have worked with some of the largest organizations in the world, e.g., Uber, Toyota, GM Motors, Microsoft, and even the United States Department of Defence.
Every organization wants to implement AI, but the main problem they face is how to handle their data. While most AI companies focus on how they can make AI for the future, Scale is more focused on using the current AI and machine learning technologies to meet current human needs.
Scale has been involved in a lot of ground-breaking projects, including the current Russian and Ukrainian war. This and other geopolitical crises have been affected by AI and Satellite Imaging. This data can be used to analyze war-affected areas.
