Sony has just announced that it will release a new PS5 pad for special gamers, and this new PS5 accessibility controller’s focus is to help disabled gamers enjoy the gaming world better.
The gaming world is incredible and is getting better with the introduction of virtual reality and high-tech 3D features that are supposed to be experienced by all. Sony has decided to help the disabled experience and enjoy this world with this new accessibility controller kit.
The new PS5 accessibility controller kit is titled “Project Leonardo,” it is developed with contributions from experts in gaming, software development, user experience, and feedback from gaming community members such as able gamers, stack up, and special effects that are focused on helping individuals with disabilities, trauma, and abuse find purpose through gaming.
Project Leonardo was created to help players with disabilities play with the PS5 comfortably, easier, and faster. Players will be able to build their own gaming experience in a way that best suits them, as they will be able to layer different buttons and move them around with ease.
Now individuals with disabilities do not need to learn how to use the PS5 pad or the PS5 pad features as there is now one for them.Senior designer at Sony, So Morimoto, said this about the new accessibility kit: “Because players can customize Project Leonardo according to their needs, there is no one “right” form factor.” “We want to empower them to create their configurations.”
Anticipated Features
- Project Leonardo will include components that allow players to customize the controller layout as they see fit, changing the traditional button function and allowing multiple buttons to be mapped to a single function.
- It can be used as an independent controller or be paired with the traditional PS5 gaming controller and another Project Leonardo controller, depending on how the user wishes to use it.
- Supports external connectivity through four 3.5 mm auxiliary ports.
- Players can store their personalized button layout and settings; they can also store and access up to three control profiles at any time.
The Sony PS5 has been among the best gaming consoles of the year 2022, and in the spirit of giving back to its customers, it has initiated this project. You might be thinking, “How much will this new PS5 controller cost?” Not to worry, there is no set price or release date for Project Leonardo yet.
