Host Your Website On AWS For Free

Amazon Web Services is a secured, flexible cloud computing platform that provides content, high computing power, and databases to different digital programs. It offers on-demand delivery of technology services via the Internet with pay-as-you-use pricing. It was developed in 2002 to help developers with all the necessary tools needed to create a program or website, and since then, it has become the world’s leading web services provider.

Millions of customers and organizations trust AWS to power their infrastructure and applications. AWS uses its wide range of domains to provide various services, including computer services, data and user information storage, networking, blockchain, analytics, Internet of things, machine learning, etc.

Another good thing about this service is that it can host your website for free using the Amazing S3 domain, which helps eliminate the cost and insecurities attached to hosting a website.

Here is a quick step-by-step process you can use to host your website for free on AWS.

1. Create an AWS Account. When creating your account, use an effective email address and a password that you can remember.

2. Sign in and click the services drop-down when your account has been approved and verified. Scroll down to the storage and click on S3.

3. Tap on the Create Bucket button, give it a unique name, scroll down and select your region, scroll down and enable ACLS (to give access to users). Ensure you don’t block public access and the program bucket to fit your website. Scroll down and create the bucket.

4. Click on the already created bucket, click on the upload button to upload your website files, then drag and drop the website folder into the upload page and upload the files.

5. After successfully uploading your files, go to the properties tab, scroll down to the static website hosting section, click the enable button, enter the index and error file names, and save changes.

6. Click on the objects to select the entire bucket, click on the action drop-down and make the folder public. Click on the index file of the website, scroll down, and you will find Object Url (that will be the URL of your website). Click on it to test your website to see if all the functions are working.

There you have it, a functioning website that is hosted for free using AWS, which I think is a great platform for web developers, bloggers, etc. The AWS database service can also aid in the storage of website queries on a secure server.
