CES 2022: Buzz Worthy Tech Innovations

The Consumer Electronics Show, a yearly event in Las Vegas, occurs in early January. It is a global technology show that unveils the most unconventional technology innovations.

Due to the surge of the Omicron variant of Covid-19, this season, it took place in cyberspace and physically. Unfavourable conditions notwithstanding, the show unveiled tech innovations from all corners of the world.

Here Are Some Tech Innovations We Consider Buzz Worthy:

BMW’s Colour Changing Car

BMW iX Flow SUV is the first of its kind. It Is a car that changes its exterior colour between black and white by pressing a button.

BMW worked with E-Ink to design the application for vehicles. E-Ink is a company founded in 1997. E-Ink created the technology used in Kindle readers and commercial displays for brands like Amazon and Sony.

BMW’s application of e-ink works through a wrap tailored to cover the entire body of the SUV. The wrap contains various colour pigments that will rise to the skin’s surface when stimulated by multiple electrical signals, causing it to change hue.

Samsung NFT TV

NFTs cause quite a buzz these days. They are essentially digital tokens (arts, videos) bought and sold on the blockchain. Many have pondered how to display them in the real world tho.

Thankfully, Samsung has an answer in its latest TV unveiled at CES 2022. It comes installed with an NFT browser which allows users to browse through various pieces up for sale, buy them, and then display them like conventional art pieces

Asus Zenbook 17 Fold

Asus Zenbook is a giant, 17.3inch foldable tablet with a 2560 x 1920p, 4.3 ratio OLED display, translating in vivid colors and excellent contrast.

I refer to it as a foldable laptop, as one can use the bottom half of the screen as a keyboard and trackpad. However, it also comes with a detachable keyboard and trackpad.

Considering the increase in electric cars, I expected autonomous vehicle innovations at this year’s CES. The John Deere self-driving tractor is one of the two self-driving vehicles that stood out. The 8R tractor has cameras and other technology that will allow it to navigate a field while controlling it through a mobile Application.

The Hyundai Heavy Industries Autonomous Luxury Boat is a small self-driving boat equipped with cameras, depth sensors, and artificial intelligence systems. It can dodge obstacles in the sea and automatically dock itself to decrease accident risks. The company also stated its plan to try the tech with a large ship later this year.

Noveto N1 Invisible headphones

The N1 is an ultra-modern audio device. Combines built-in Alexa intelligence and Noveto’s proprietary smart audio beaming technology to create an immersive binaural audio sound without conventional headphones.

N1 headphones are placed on your desk, flat like a mini soundbar or speakers. It then emits audio straight to your ears without any wires or other material in between.

This product will be able to pair with your phone or any Bluetooth-supporting device and support calls.
