While many are suspicious about the 5G wireless network, some tech firms are already sketching out operations for the following generation of wireless network connection.
LG Tech Company is taking the vanguard among others as it announced the 6G wireless transmission of TeraHertz with a frequency range of 155 – 175 GHz across 320 meters.
Although the technology uses an ultra-wideband frequency and a depleted power during transmission and reception, the team arrested the challenge by using a power amplifier to improve the transmission strength and enhance incoming signal quality using a receiver low–noise amplifier.
As part of LG’s plan to commercialize the new technology, the tech company is incorporating the designs into future IC so as to allow for a seamless operation of the 6G technology.
The tech company stated that the 6G network would offer a cellular coverage of 250 meters base stations for urban macro cell coverage.
In a statement, the Chief Technology Officer and Executive Vice president of LG Electronics, Dr. Kim Byounghoon, recognized the demonstration’s success as a positive move toward actualizing the 1-Terabit per second speed.
He further assured users that the company is committed to conducting research with institutes and innovators to crystallize the 6G technology further. He added, “We expect 6G to be a major driver of future business and new user experiences”.
LG has instead taken the lead in the new digital development, and it is certain that other tech companies will follow suit. The results from the 6G test were made available for public consumption on September 23 at the 6G Grand Summit in Seoul.
Although the 6G network is better in data transfer speeds with lower latency, how much has the 5G been utilized in commercialization?
The inception of 5G did not come without a long debate on the health implication. Do you think the world is ready for this?
