Musk, the world’s richest man, seems to be going after the richest and largest company in the world.\u00a0He started this battle via his tweet, which he posted on the 28th of November, saying,\u00a0“Apple has stopped advertising on Twitter. Do they hate free speech in America?”\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apple was the top advertiser on the social media platform for the first quarter of 2022, spending more than $48 million on ads alone.\u00a0He also stated on his Twitter account that\u00a0“Apple has also threatened to withhold Twitter from its App Store but won’t tell us why,”\u00a0<\/em>and if the allegations are true, it is a big deal that will drastically affect the growth of the social media giant as in the US alone Apple owns more than 45% of the general smartphone users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do you think Elon Musk might be jeopardising the long-term relationship that Twitter has had with Apple for decades, or is he just trying to fight for his company’s interests?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later that same day, Elon posted his complaint about Apple again, saying,\u00a0“Did you know that Apple puts a 30% tax on everything you buy on the App Store?”<\/em> Elon Musk seems to be calling out to the company to step up and live up to their former slogan, “Think Different,” and feels that they can do better with their regulations as Apple might want to continue with their policies and moderation that have worked for the software companies for decades as they are yet to release any statement concerning the complaints that Elon Musk is pointing out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well, it’s not the first time that Apple has found itself being criticised by another tech company about the price of their tax percentage, as in 2020, Epic Games, the owners of the Fortnite game, went to court over the fees and argued that Apple wields so much power and monopoly in the software world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If these controversies continue, it might get to a point where Twitter or Apple might believe that they don’t need each other and can develop a phone or social media platform in their stead, as they are both tech giants that are capable of developing such.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, the battle’s progression depends on Apple’s reply to Elon’s accusations, and if they are to fight back, this will be a big tech battle. If this battle were to begin, who do you think would win?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
