On Tuesday, the 5th of July, 2022, the Nigeria Federal Government launched the new “Enhanced e-Passport<\/strong>” at the Embassy of Nigeria in Washington, DC. The Honorable Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, was there in person for the launch. Alhaji Isah Jere Idris, Comptroller-General of Nigeria Immigration Service and her Excellency Dr. (Mrs.) Uzoma Emenike, the Ambassador to United State, were in attendance. Both the Consulate-General of New York and Atlanta were also in the building; Ambassador Lot Egopija and Ambassador Amina A. Smaila respectively. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Honorable Minister Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola stated that “this new enhanced e-Passport is the first of it’s kind on Africa and fifth in the world.” He also said that anyone can track their application status online. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
